Portocred is a personal loans and investment company with a wide network of stores and agents across Brazil. In 2021, they created an innovation and technology hub with the mission of adapt and enhance the loan hiring and managing experiences to the digital environment.
My role was to deliver high fidelity interface concepts, evolve and give a more modern and digitalized aspect to the brand and work close to the tech team to ensure that implementation of new features were aligned with business goals.
The recent redesigned logo (by the agency Gad) demanded the effort of creating the visual language that would be used in the digital platforms and media. I was responsible of bringing together graphic design styles and turning into scalable digital assets through a new Design System that had Design Tokens as the main tool to cut decision making time and keep the brand consistent.
The Design Tokens documentation was the base of the Design System that, in less than 6 months, was already in 80% of the mobile apps and web platform. It was also used for marketing materials, such as e-mails, social media, ads and campaigns.
The same way the product were built — from scratch — the design and development processes were also implemented little by little and from the beginning. We didn't take any recipes and brought different approaches and methodologies to design products when it was needed.
At the beginning, it was simply a delivery process, where flows and User Interfaces was delivered in Figma, strongly relying on previous experiences by the team members on the financial market and design standards and best practices.
Later, with some prominent results after a fast delivery process, we started to tackle problems with a little bit more care, and started to use the data we had to enhance experiences. We also started some user research, A/B and usability testing to refine in a more accurate manner our products.
